SlongeHoops
An isometric painted basketball court: five offensive pucks in a Horns set, five defenders on them, and white action lines for a ball screen and a roll.

Draw the play. Draw the drill. Watch it run.

Drag from a player and the line becomes a cut, a pass, a dribble or a screen. Press play and it runs on a court you can tilt and scrub. Put a simulated defense on your plays, set out cones for your drills, and plan the whole practice to the minute.

Drag from a player. The app reads the line.

Drag from a player. The app reads the stroke — a cut, a pass, a dribble, a screen, a handoff, a shot — and draws it in the notation you already use. A wrong guess is one tap to correct. Plays and drills are built in phases, the way you teach them.

How drawing works
The editor: a Horns set on a painted court, a selected cut in yellow, and the action list for phase 1 on the right.

Tilt the court. Press play.

The same play or drill from above or in isometric. Scrub it, slow it to half speed, loop one phase, pause and move a player. The tilted view is only a camera over the same drawing, so editing never gets harder.

  • Top, isometric, sideline and baseline views
  • Scrub, loop a phase, quarter to double speed
  • FIBA, NFHS, NCAA and NBA courts
  • Seven court looks, from street paint to hardwood

Flip one coverage. Watch the same play.

Five simulated defenders react to what you drew. Guard the ball screen in drop, hedge, switch, ICE or blitz; play man or a 2-3, 3-2, 1-3-1, 1-2-2 or box-and-1. A/B compare puts both answers on the floor at once, and every defender says why it is standing where it stands.

Flip drop to hedge and watch the same play.
Every defender tells you why.

Help comes from the low man.

Practice gets a court too.

Switch the editor to Drill and set up the gym: cones, flat markers, chairs, agility ladders, hurdles, dummies and a ball rack. Draw who goes where and the drill runs phase by phase, exactly like a play. Every drill says what it trains, how hard it is, which ages it suits and what to coach.

  • Twelve categories, from shooting and finishing to conditioning and warm-up
  • Beginner to elite, U8 to adult
  • Up to 12 players a side and two coaches on the floor
  • Minutes, players, balls, coaching points and variations with every drill

How the practice planner works
Ready-made practice

Players learn it before practice.

Send a link. A player picks a position and gets asked on the court: you are the 4 — where do you go? Questions are generated from the play itself. On Coach, an AI writer adds read-and-react questions.

How quizzes work
A quiz question on a phone: “You are 2. Where do you go?” over the court. The quiz reveal on a phone: the right spot ringed on the court, with the coaching note.

Made for the reel.

Export video in reel, half-reel, square and landscape, rendered frame by frame with the camera you chose. Fill frame re-frames the court to the shape. A share link opens a viewer with no account and no install.

Video export for creators
The Export video dialog with its four formats: reel lower half, reel full, square and landscape.

97 plays and 97 drills built in. Playbooks per team.

Standard sets, drawn for you: Horns, Floppy, Flex, zone offense, BLOBs, SLOBs, ATOs, press breaks — and drills sorted by what they train, how hard they are and which ages they suit. Open one and it becomes yours. Group them into a playbook per team, choose what players can see, and keep scout defenses as presets.

Players and viewers are always free.

A coach adopting this never has to ask parents for money.

Why SlongeHoops?

Built by a working coach, because drawing a play or a drill was always slower than explaining it.

  • Draw what happens. Drag from a player and the stroke becomes a cut, a pass or a dribble. No frames to place, no arrows to bend.
  • The 3D view never gets in the way. Isometric is only a camera over the same drawing, so you can edit in any view.
  • Nothing is lost. Autosave, undo everywhere, and export whenever you want your plays out.
  • Advice you can check. Practice templates and coach notes follow published guidance from USA Basketball, FIBA, Canada Basketball and sports-medicine research, and every note names its source.

Questions

What is SlongeHoops?

SlongeHoops is a browser-based basketball play and drill designer and practice planner for coaches. You draw by dragging from a player, put training equipment such as cones, ladders and chairs on the court for drills, watch it run on a court viewed from the top, isometric, sideline or baseline, put a rule-based simulated defense on your plays, and plan practices from your drills and plays.

Is SlongeHoops free?

There is a free plan for drawing plays and drills, the whole library, the isometric view and share links. Paid plans add the simulated defense, the practice planner, sync, clean 1080p video export and team features.

Do my players have to pay or make an account?

No. Players and viewers do not pay, and a shared play opens in the browser without an account.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. It runs in any browser on a laptop, tablet or phone, and there is an Android app on Google Play.

How good is the simulated defense?

It is rule-based and in beta. It shows how a coverage such as drop, hedge or switch is meant to work against your play. It does not predict a real opponent.

Which court rules does it use?

You can choose FIBA, NFHS, NCAA or NBA court markings and dimensions.

Can I draw drills as well as plays?

Yes. Switch the editor to Drill to put cones, markers, chairs, agility ladders, hurdles, dummies and a ball rack on the court, with up to 12 players a side and two coaches. A drill runs phase by phase like a play and carries its category, difficulty, age groups and coaching points. The built-in library has drills for every category, from warm-ups to team play.

Can I plan a whole practice?

Yes, on Coach, Team and Program. Put a practice of 30 to 120 minutes on the week, fill it with drills, plays and your own blocks, let Fill the rest complete it for your team’s age group or start from a ready-made practice, and print the sheet for the gym.

The court is open.

It runs in your browser, on a laptop, a tablet in the gym or a phone.
