SlongeHoops

SlongeHoops vs FastDraw (Hudl FastModel)

FastDraw is the play-diagramming tool from FastModel, which joined Hudl; Hudl also sells Play Tools as a $199-a-year add-on. Hudl’s pages list no FastDraw price, and SlongeHoops publishes its prices and has a free plan. Hudl suits teams already on Hudl; SlongeHoops suits a coach who wants one tool for drawing, a simulated defense and quizzes. Facts below are from Hudl’s own pages, as of October 2026.

Checked on the tool’s own pages, as of October 2026.

What FastDraw (Hudl FastModel) does well

  • FastDraw is described as play diagramming software to draw, organize and share plays and playbooks, with playbooks tied to scouting reports, video integration and notes.
  • Plays can be sent to athletes’ devices, and FastModel’s community has submitted over 9,000 free plays and drawings.
  • FastModel was founded in 2004 and its toolset is FastScout, FastDraw and FastRecruit.
  • Hudl Play Tools: share plays with individual players, coaches or the team, and “Track activity” shows who is studying what, play by play. Play Tools is listed at $199 a year.

Where SlongeHoops differs

  • Prices: Hudl’s pricing page shows no amounts for FastDraw, only links by level. SlongeHoops publishes them: Coach is $7 a month or $60 a year, and there is a free plan.
  • SlongeHoops runs in the browser with nothing to install, and a share link opens with no account.
  • SlongeHoops can put a rule-based simulated defense (in beta) on any play, shows four camera views and generates quizzes from a play. We did not find these on Hudl’s pages.
  • SlongeHoops does not import FastDraw files, and has no scouting reports or video library.
