How it compares
Coaches ask what makes this different from the tools they already use. This is what we could check on each tool’s own pages on 30 September 2026.
Prices and features change, so open the linked page before you decide. Where we could not confirm something, we left it out rather than guess.
FastDraw (Hudl FastModel)
The long-established desktop play-diagramming tool from FastModel, now part of Hudl.
What SlongeHoops offers
- The price is on the website: Coach is $7 a month or $60 a year. We could not find a public FastDraw price on Hudl’s site, where it is sold by quote.
- It runs in the browser on a laptop, tablet or phone with nothing to install, and there is a free plan.
- A share link opens a viewer with no account.
Where they are stronger
- An established product with a large library of community plays and tools that send playbooks to players.
- Its companion app FastReps shows plays in 3D on phones.

The Hoops Geek
A web and mobile play designer with a free tier and team features.
What SlongeHoops offers
- Four camera views on the same drawing: top, isometric, sideline and baseline.
- On Team, players are free and unlimited, and you choose which plays they see.
- A simulated defense you can put on any play, on Coach and above (in beta).
Where they are stronger
- A free plan with five plays and a playbook, share links with no login, and practice planning, rotations and messaging for teams.
- It imports FastDraw files, which matters if you already have a library.

Hudl Play Tools
A playbook add-on inside the Hudl app.
What SlongeHoops offers
- Coach is $60 a year on its own. Hudl lists Play Tools as a $199-a-year add-on to a Hudl subscription.
- You do not need any other subscription to draw, run and share a play.
Where they are stronger
- If your team is already on Hudl, your video, roster and plays sit in one place, and Hudl tracks who has studied each play.

What SlongeHoops offers
- A drawn play can be replayed at any speed, shared as a link and exported as video.
Where they are stronger
- Nothing to pay for, nothing to log into, and every coach already knows how. For a quick huddle it is still the fastest.
What SlongeHoops does not do yet
- It does not import files from other tools, so an existing library has to be redrawn. Its 97 built-in plays are a starting point.
- The simulated defense is in beta. It shows how a coverage is meant to work; it does not predict an opponent.
- It is new. There are no customer logos to show yet, only a product you can open and judge.
