Down Screen for the Shooter
A simple set to get your best shooter a catch on the wing. The shooter starts low, a teammate comes down and screens his man, and he pops out to the wing for the shot. The screener then turns to the ball and posts up, because the defender who helped is now behind him.

1 takes one dribble to the left. 4 comes down and screens 2’s man. 2, the shooter, steps into the lane to set his man up, then pops up past 4’s shoulder to the wing.

1 passes to 2 on the wing. 4 turns to face the ball and seals his man on the block.

2 shoots if his man is behind him. If the defence switched the screen, the small defender is now on 4 in the post — pass it in.
