Horns Flare
Из Horns разыгрывающий передаёт на один локоть штрафной и сразу получает флэр от второго большого. Обычный вход превращается в обратный пас на трёхочковый с пустой стороны. Первое решение — бросок после флэра; при размене или перехвате линии передачи ставящий заслон свободно уходит к кольцу за спинами защитников.

Тренерские акценты
- 2 clears through the baseline before anything else happens, and he clears all the way to the far corner.

Horns Flare is the cheapest three in the set. Nothing unusual happens: the point guard makes the entry pass every team makes, and then gets screened for it.

The read
This is a two-man read between 1 and 4, and the defense picks which one you get.

The screener always scores against the coverage that stops the cutter.
Teaching it
The whole play lives or dies on 5’s pass. It has to go over the top, it has to be on time, and it has to arrive while 1 is still moving. A pass thrown around the defense arrives late and low, and the closeout gets there.
Drill it without defenders first: entry, clear, flare, skip, shoot. Ten reps each side. Then add one defender on 1 and let him choose to go over, under or switch, so 1 learns to read it rather than run to a spot.
