Terms
Tato stránka zatím není dostupná česky, proto čtete anglický originál.
1. Who you are contracting with
SlongeHoops is operated by slonge solutions (Benjamin Tobler, sole proprietorship, Neugasse 44, 9000 St. Gallen), Switzerland. “We” and “us” mean that operator. “You” means the person using the service.
One thing has to be said at the top. When you buy a subscription, your contract for that
purchase is with Stripe, not with us. Stripe Managed Payments is the seller on record — the
merchant of record — trading to customers as Link. Your statement will read LINK.COM*. Stripe
handles the payment and the tax, and Stripe’s own terms govern the sale. Our terms govern the
software and what you get with each plan.
2. What the service is
SlongeHoops is a browser application for drawing basketball plays and drills, watching them run, storing them in playbooks, planning practices with them, sharing them and exporting them.
What it is not, stated so nobody is surprised:
- It does not predict outcomes. The simulated defense never decides whether a shot goes in, whether a pass is stolen, or whether a play works. It shows where five defenders end up according to rules and the settings you chose.
- The simulated defense is in Beta. It is rule-based and deterministic. It may put a defender somewhere a coach would not. Do not treat it as a scouting report.
- It does not import or edit video, and it does not read a photograph of a hand-drawn diagram.
- It gives no coaching, medical, safety or officiating advice. Rules differ between FIBA, NFHS, NCAA and NBA competition, and between youth federations. Check your own rule book. The practice planner’s suggestions and coach notes are general guidance with their sources named; you decide what your players can safely do.
3. Accounts
You may use the editor, the library, playback and sharing without an account, in which case your plays stay in your browser and we hold nothing.
With an account, you are responsible for what happens under it. Tell us if you think somebody else has access.
Age. Players under 16 — or under the age of digital consent in their country — may use SlongeHoops only by joining a team through a coach’s team code. We ask for no age and no birth date. SlongeHoops is not directed at children under 13 in the United States. Minors cannot buy subscriptions; purchases are made by adults.
Players and invited members. A player can join a team with a team code and a display name, without an e-mail address. The club — or the coach, if the team belongs to no club — is responsible for the players it invites and for what it enters about them. In particular:
- before inviting players under 16, the club or the coach must have their parents’ consent, and confirms this in the app when creating a team code;
- a roster entry holds only what the team needs: a name or nickname, a number and a position.
4. What you own, and what we own
Your plays are yours. Anything you draw, write in a coaching note, name or organise into a playbook belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not use it to train anything. You can export all of it at any time as a file you keep.
To run the service, you give us the permission we need, and no more: to store, sync, display and process your content, and to show it to whoever you share it with — for example sending a play’s text to the AI quiz writer when you press that button. Our processors (listed in the privacy policy) may do the same on our behalf. The permission is free of charge, lasts as long as the content is in the service, and ends when you delete it, apart from backups until they expire and copies you have already shared with others.
The library is ours. The built-in plays, action templates, descriptions and coaching notes were drawn and written for this product. The sets themselves are common basketball plays: nobody owns a basketball concept, and you may run any of them with your team. What is ours is the particular diagrams and the particular words.
You may copy built-in plays into your own playbooks, change them, print them and share them with your team. You may not copy or redistribute the library as a collection, or extract it by automated means.
Your team’s name, your club’s name and your players’ names are yours. We do not use them in marketing, ever.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload or write anything unlawful, abusive, or that identifies a child beyond a name on a roster;
- use the service to harass anybody, including through a share link or a quiz;
- attempt to reach data that is not yours, probe the security of the service, or use automated means to extract the library;
- resell access, or present the service as your own;
- circumvent the limits of the free tier. Some of them run in your browser and can be bypassed by anybody determined; doing so is still a breach of these terms.
Suspension. We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms. We tell you first and give you a chance to respond, unless we have to act at once for security or legal reasons — then we tell you straight after. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and we look at it again. While an account is suspended, you can still ask us for an export of your plays.
6. Plans and payment
Prices are in US dollars, euros or Swiss francs, with the same figures in each: 7 means $7, €7 or CHF 7.
| Plan | Price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 | The editor, the isometric view, every court look, the whole built-in library, share links and the viewer, quizzes generated from a play, 720p video with a small watermark. Four saved plays. |
| Coach | 7 per month or 60 per year | Unlimited plays synced to your account, every simulated-defense setting with presets and A/B compare, 1080p video with no watermark and reel formats, the practice planner, the AI quiz writer at 30 a month, short share links. |
| Team | 12 per month or 108 per year | Everything in Coach for up to 3 coaches of the team, team quiz results, 100 AI quizzes a month for each coach, and control over what players can see. |
| Program | 24 per month or 216 per year for 5 teams, plus 4 per month or 36 per year for each further team, up to 15 teams | Everything in Team on each team bought, with 3 coaches each, club administrators, coach invitations by e-mail, 300 AI quizzes a month for each coach. A club cannot hold more teams than its Program covers. |
Players and viewers never pay. Watching a shared play, taking a quiz and being on a roster are free on every plan and always will be.
Tax. Prices in USD exclude tax; Stripe adds whatever applies to you at the checkout. Prices in EUR and CHF include VAT.
Trials. Paid plans start with a free trial of 14 days. A trial is offered once for each account, team or club. Stripe may ask for a payment method when the trial starts; nothing is charged before it ends, and Stripe reminds you before it does.
Renewal and cancellation. After the trial, a subscription renews automatically every month or every year, depending on what you chose, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under “Manage subscription”. The plan then runs to the end of the period you paid for and does not renew.
Your right to change your mind. Because the trial comes first, you can cancel before you pay anything. In addition, if you ask us within 14 days of your first payment, we refund that payment in full. If you are a consumer in the EU or Switzerland, you keep any statutory rights you have on top of this.
Refunds. Stripe is the seller and may also refund you within 60 days at its own discretion. Ask us first and we will sort it out with Stripe.
Price changes. We announce a price change at least 30 days ahead, by e-mail or in the app. It applies from your next renewal, never to a period you have already paid for, and you can cancel before it applies.
Disputes with consumers. The EU’s online dispute resolution platform was closed on 20 July 2025. We do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
7. Availability, and what happens if this stops
We do not promise the service will always be available. It is built and run by one person.
Two things are true and worth knowing:
- Every play exports as a file you own, in a documented format.
- The app runs in your browser and works offline once loaded.
If we shut SlongeHoops down, we tell you at least 60 days ahead. Export stays available during that time, and we refund any prepaid time you cannot use, pro rata.
8. What we do not warrant, and what we are liable for
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that the simulated defense is correct, that a play will work, or that the service is fit for any particular competition or rule set.
As far as the law allows, we are liable only for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury, and it does not affect the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of St. Gallen, Switzerland, have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also sue us, and can only be sued, at your place of residence where the law gives you that right, and you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you at least 30 days ahead, by e-mail or in the app, and update the date at the top. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before the change takes effect. Smaller corrections just update the date.
11. Data we process for clubs and coaches
This section is the data processing agreement between us and every club that uses SlongeHoops for its teams (GDPR Art. 28, Swiss revFADP Art. 9). It applies in the same way to a coach whose team belongs to no club. Below, “the club” means either.
Roles. The club is responsible (the controller) for its teams’ data. We process that data on the club’s behalf and only on its instructions (the processor).
Subject, nature and purpose. We store, sync, display and process team data so the club’s teams can use SlongeHoops: keep rosters, share playbooks, plan practices, run quizzes and invite coaches.
Duration. As long as the club’s teams use the service, and until the data is deleted as described under “Deletion” below.
Types of data. Rosters (players’ names or nicknames, numbers and positions), team and club membership, players’ quiz results, the team’s playbooks, plays and practice plans including coaching notes, and coach invitations (e-mail addresses).
Data subjects. The club’s players, often minors; its coaches; its administrators.
The club’s instructions. Using the product is the club’s instruction: what a coach or an administrator does in the app is what we do with the data. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we say so.
Confidentiality. Only the operator has access to team data, and only where it is needed to run the service, to answer the club, or where the law requires it. Anybody who helps us is bound to confidentiality.
Security. Access to every row is decided by the database, with default deny; codes for invites and share links are high-entropy, expire and can be revoked; club administrators use a second factor for sensitive operations; data is encrypted in transit and at rest; the security log records who did what. The privacy policy has more.
Sub-processors. The club agrees to the processors listed in the privacy policy, under “Who processes data for us”. We bind each of them to the same data protection duties. We announce a new sub-processor at least 30 days before it starts, by e-mail or in the app. The club may object within that time; if we cannot resolve the objection, the club may end its subscription and we refund any prepaid time pro rata.
Helping with requests. When a player, a parent or a coach exercises their rights, the club can answer most requests itself in the app: coaches can correct and delete roster entries and quiz results, and every user can export and delete their own data. For anything else, we help the club through [email protected].
Breaches. If a breach affects team data, we tell the club without undue delay and give it what it needs to meet its own duties.
Deletion. Team data is deleted when the club or the coach deletes it, or when the team or the account that holds it is deleted — then permanently after 30 days, and from backups when they expire.
Audits. On request, we give the club the documentation it needs to check that we keep these terms: our record of processing, security measures and sub-processors.
