Crash and Putback
The coach shoots from one wing. The player on the weak side, where most misses land, crashes around a dummy that stands in for the defender boxing out, takes the ball at its highest point and scores right back up without bringing it down.

Coaching points
- Most misses come off on the weak side: crash from there every time.
- Move before the defender can make contact: fake one way, go the other.
- Swim or rip past the box-out; get a foot and a shoulder in front of him.
- Catch high, two hands, and score on the way up without bringing it down.
Phase by phase
1Phase 1
Shot goes up: don't watch it, move. Take a step to the middle to sell it, then swim past the dummy on the baseline side to get your body in front of it.
- C shoots
- P cuts to the right block
2Phase 2
Catch it high with two hands and go straight back up, off two feet and strong off the glass. No dribble, no bringing the ball down.
- P shoots
3Phase 3
Back out to the elbow for the next ball. Alternate the move around the dummy: swim one rep, spin off it the next.
- P cuts to the right elbow
Variations
- A live defender boxes out instead of the dummy.
- Tip it back in instead of catching it.
- 2-on-2 crash: coach shoots, both sides fight for it, rebounders score or outlet.
