Knockout
One line at the free-throw line, the first two players each with a ball. You keep shooting until you score; if the player behind you scores first, you are out. Last one standing wins. The diagram animates one ball; the notes tell you what the second one is doing.

Coaching points
- Same shot every time from the line: balance, eyes on the rim, hold the follow-through.
- Follow your shot at once; the second chance is where the game is won.
- After a make, pass straight to the next player in line, not to anyone else.
- Play your own ball: no knocking the other ball away, and no missing on purpose for an easy putback.
Phase by phase
1Phase 1
A shoots from the line. B has the second ball and may shoot the moment A's ball leaves his hands.
- A shoots
- B cuts to the nail
2Phase 2
A scored: he takes his ball out of the net, passes to C at the front of the line and runs to the back. B missed (second ball) and chases his rebound.
- C cuts to the nail
- A passes to C
- A cuts
- B cuts to the left block
- D cuts to the nail
- E cuts to the top
3Phase 3
C scores from the line before B's putback goes in: B is knocked out and leaves the court. The game goes on until one player is left.
- C shoots
- B cuts
Variations
- Young players shoot from a closer spot marked by the coach.
- Harder: allow bumping, so the player behind may knock the ball in front away.
- Big group: two games at two baskets.
