Around the World
Seven markers in an arc around the basket. The shooter works from spot 1 on the right baseline to spot 7 on the left baseline and back, moving on only after a make, while a partner rebounds and passes. Played as a game it is the old playground classic.

Coaching points
- Square the feet and shoulders to the rim at every spot before the catch.
- Same shot from every spot: the angle changes, the motion doesn't.
- Bank shots from spots 2 and 6 are allowed and smart; aim for the top corner of the square.
- Rebounder passes on time and on target to the shooting pocket.
Phase by phase
1Phase 1
Spot 1, right baseline. Square up and shoot; the rebounder goes for the ball whether it goes in or not.
- S shoots
2Phase 2
A make moves you on: step to spot 2, show a target, catch ready to shoot with your feet already set.
- S cuts
- R passes to S
- S shoots
3Phase 3
Spot 3, then the middle at spot 4. Same routine every shot: catch, set, rise.
- S cuts to the right elbow
- R passes to S
- S shoots
4Phase 4
Keep going around to spot 7 on the left baseline, then all the way back. A miss means you shoot again from the same spot.
- S cuts to the nail
- R passes to S
- S shoots
Variations
- Move the markers back to the free-throw distance, then to the three-point line.
- Race another pair: first around and back wins.
- Chance shot: after a miss you may shoot again, but a second miss sends you back to spot 1.
