Mass Defensive Slides
The whole team spreads out in a stance facing the coach. The coach points and the players react at once: slide sideways, drop step and slide back, close out two steps, backpedal. Good for big groups and young teams.

Coaching points

- Short, quick steps; the feet never cross and never come together.
- React to the signal, not to the player next to you.
- Be loud on every closeout.
- Coach: give the arm signal and the word together, and keep the pace up.

Variations

- A slow dribbler replaces the coach; the team reacts to his changes of direction.
- Run it non-stop for 2 to 3 minutes and mix the calls.
