Post Entry Passing
A wing feeds a post player who is being guarded first on the high side, then fronted. The wing reads the defender: against the high side, improve the angle with a dribble and bounce pass to the low hand; against a front, reverse the ball to the top so the post can seal for the entry from there.

Coaching points
- Pass to the post's open hand, the one away from the defender.
- Improve the angle with a dribble or a step before you force a pass.
- Against a front, move the ball: the reversal turns the defender's position into the post's advantage.
- Post player: wide base, arm bar, target hand, and hold the seal until the ball arrives.
Phase by phase
1Phase 1
Defender on the high side: the wing takes one dribble toward the baseline to improve the angle and bounce passes to the post's low, outside hand.
- W dribbles
- W passes to P
- P dribbles to the right block
- P shoots
2Phase 2
Now X fronts the post. No lob from the wing into the help: reverse the ball to the top. P keeps X on his back and holds the seal.
- W passes to T
- P cuts to the right block
- X cuts
3Phase 3
With X pinned on the far side, the open side is toward the rim: T passes away from the defender and P steps to it for the finish.
- P cuts to the right block
- T passes to P
- P shoots
Variations
- Defender chooses where to play; the passer must read it.
- Add a weak-side helper so the lob from the wing becomes a turnover.
- Entry from the top of the key to the high post, then high-low.
