One-Dribble Pull-Up
The shooter V-cuts to the wing and catches from the coach. A chair stands in for a defender closing out from the baseline side, so the shooter rips the ball through to the middle and rises on one hard dribble into an elbow jumper. Then the same on the other side.

Coaching points
- Catch ready: inside foot down, knees bent, shoulders already turned to the rim.
- Read the closeout: it comes from the baseline, so the rip goes to the middle.
- One dribble covers ground: push the ball out in front and go get it.
- Stop on balance with a quick 1-2 or a jump stop and rise straight up; no drifting.
Phase by phase
1Phase 1
V-cut: walk your man toward the block, plant the inside foot and pop out to the wing. Catch with the inside foot down, already facing the rim.
- S cuts to the right wing
- C passes to S
2Phase 2
The closeout comes from the baseline side, so the middle is open: rip low across your body, one long, hard dribble, and stop into the shot at the elbow.
- S dribbles to the right elbow
- S shoots
3Phase 3
Sprint to the other side and repeat; on the right wing the dribble was left-handed, here it is right-handed. V-cut, catch, rip, one dribble, rise straight up.
- S cuts to the left wing
- C passes to S
- S dribbles to the left elbow
- S shoots
Variations
- Move the chair to the high side and go baseline into a short-corner pull-up.
- Replace the chair with a live defender who closes out and plays on.
- Make five, then switch sides; count the makes in two minutes.
